Summary

I created the illustrations for the picture book “La roue des animaux – Sauras-tu retrouver les 60 combinaisons ? (Animal Roulette – Can you find the 60 combinations?)”, which will be published by the French publisher Milan Publishing on October 15, 2025.

This book is part of the popular French series “Mes livres à jouer (Playable Books)”. It is a unique interactive book designed for children aged about 1 to 6 to enjoy and play with.

“Animal Roulette” is a “search and play” picture book suitable for children aged 2 and up. On each spread, the child uses the roulette on the left to select a “color” and the roulette on the right to select a “pattern,” then searches for the animal with that specific color and pattern combination within the illustration. Through this tactile, visual, and cognitive experience, the book helps foster a child’s observational skills and concentration.

The roulettes feature 4 colors and 3 patterns, allowing children to search for an incredible 12 animals on a single spread. A sense of new discovery and accomplishment awaits them with every turn of the page.

The scenes are set in five natural environments, including the savanna, the ocean, the sky, the jungle, and the icy world. A diverse cast of 60 animals appears, such as lions, turtles, sloths, bears, and sharks.

The action of turning the roulette wheels helps to develop manual dexterity, and feeling the patterns with their fingertips stimulates their sense of touch. Furthermore, the process of finding the target animal within the busy illustration cultivates their observational skills and concentration.

It is truly a book that nurtures “the power to think” while they play and learn.
