On June 30, 2020, a collection of my works, encompassing my debut until now, will be released by Genkosha!

This is a collection of works by illustrator Shunsuke Satake, who is known for his cute character illustrations with a pop, graphical, and retro flair. Based in Kobe, Satake is active in a wide range of fields, including advertising, book visuals, character design for childcare and early education, package design, and product development. He has also held a remarkable 30 solo exhibitions, actively showcasing his work.

During the school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Satake promptly offered his illustrations as free downloadable coloring pages. When the trend of drawing the yokai “Amabie” emerged online as a charm against the epidemic, he also created his version of Amabie and garnered media attention. His agility in responding to trends adds to his appeal and drives numerous commissions his way.

This book primarily features original artworks exhibited at various events, as well as illustrations created for books, advertisements, and packaging. It includes the coloring pages and Amabie illustrations released online. Additionally, it provides insights into Satake’s creative process, including idea sketches and the use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Drawing from his own experiences, Satake actively shares his thoughts on the illustrator’s business, activities, and lifestyle through social media and note platforms, which are condensed into engaging interviews in this book.
